Samuel Lo is a mixed-race artist whose work interprets the intricacies and nuances formed in the nexus of mixed identity. Lo received a BFA magna cum laude in Photography and Film with a minor in Art History from Virginia Commonwealth University and is currently an MFA candidate at The Ohio State University. Lo experiments with photography, collage, and various methods of installation to translate and expand understandings of identity. Lo has exhibited in several group exhibitions including selected group exhibitions at Candela Gallery (Richmond, VA) and The Anderson (Richmond, VA). Lo was awarded the VCUarts Dean's International Research Grant in 2019.
